Never a dull day

Every day is entirely different from the one before, and my work is very diverse. Working in insolvency, you need to able to provide re-assurance and help to people who are in financial difficulty. For example, receiving a call from an upset individual who has received an eviction notice from their mortgage holder, then attempting to have this put off until a solution can be found. As I’ve said the work is varied - I’ve even had to ensure arrangements are made for the residents of our insolvent but trading care home to have their laundry done when their washing machine breaks down!

A genuine interest in our clients

It is important for us to ensure that a balance is reached between the interests of the bankrupt individual and their creditors. We aim to ensure that in a case where the individual can make a contribution from their disposal income, they can retain a reasonable sum for their living expenses whilst giving the creditors the prospect of a fair dividend.

A good day is when …

We are able to safeguard the residency of one of our bankruptcy clients in their family home when any equity in their property has been resolved, for example the individual is accepted through the Communities Scotland Mortgage to Rent Scheme.

A bad day is when …

The aforementioned washing machine breaks down again!
